Men's Skeet Shooting Event
July 25 | 2-4PM
Men, you're invited to a time of fellowship and skeet shooting at the Gibsons' farm! This is the rescheduled date due to being rained out last time. You don't have to like guns or own a gun to participate and have fun!
Snacks and drinks provided
All men 18-years and older are invited. High schoolers can come with an adult.

A Taste of Alpha
We are excited to offer a Taste of Alpha this summer! Each fall we hold a full Alpha course where we explore some of life’s biggest questions. But on August 2 OR on August 16 you are invited to join us to get a feel for what Alpha is like. No matter who you are or what you believe, there’s a seat at the Alpha table. Come experience a Taste of Alpha so that you can see for yourself what Alpha is all about and what you would be inviting others into this Fall at VHC when we hold our complete Alpha course. We hope this leads you to consider being a table leader, inviting a friend or taking the Alpha course yourself this fall.

Bible Journaling is the creative practice of engaging with God's Word through writing, drawing, coloring, and decorating the pages with Scripture as a way to express our faith in a personal and meaningful way. Cost will be $15 to cover supplies. Main dish will be provided but please bring a dish to share!

Help VHC Support At-Risk Families
Supporting at-risk families in crisis through Biblical hospitality in coordination with our local My Village Ministries leadership.
My Village Ministries equips churches like ours to facilitate gospel-centered family preservation.
- To provide family support and stabilization.
- To prevent childhood abuse and neglect.
- To prevent unnecessary foster care placements.
- To prevent, reduce, and repair childhood trauma.
- To provide holistic care.
We’re looking to build our Valley Hope team so that we can best serve the needs in our area. Our team will be ministering to families (many of which are single moms) in need of additional support to adequately care for their children (short term and longer term) that are vetted by the My Village Asheville team and assigned to / received by our team based on fit.
- Families in our local community.
- Ladies enrolled in the Hope for Tomorrow program in Black Mountain, part of the Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry. We’ll be working with the team from Christ Community to serve the families in this program.
What are the roles in the team? Host Family, Community Coach, Community Friend, & Community Care work together to care for families and support each other in a sustainable way.
Who’s a good fit for serving in the roles? Families with a heart for foster care or adoption, empty nesters, families with the gift of hospitality as well as people who want to help families, parents, or kids in need or just be a friend to them. Some of the needs involve taking meals, driving people, and providing a few hours of childcare. We’ll work with potential host families to identify what children they’re a good fit for (age range, gender).

Men's Bible Study
For men at VHC looking to get more connected and connect to other men, we invite you to come to the Men's Study on Thursday mornings from 8-9:15. This group studies scriptures and prays together. We are looking to grow our community as we seek to know Jesus and each other. Reach out to Rich Gray at

Soul Care is a resource for those looking for spiritual growth and renewal. The Soul Care Team offers one to one mentoring, resources and guidance to help people develop spiritual disciplines in order to deepen their relationship with God. Learn more now!
Growing Together
Ladies at Valley Hope have several ways to connect and grow together in faith and Christ-centered community throughout the year. These include groups for all ages and stages of life. The Practice is a monthly study that meets during fall and winter months. In the summer there are often social nights around a campfire. Other opportunities for women to connect will happen sporadically throughout each year.
