    Places to Walk & Hike

    Owen Park
    5 min from VHC

    Flat 1 mile loop.  This connects to the Warren Wilson trail system at the far end. Map to Location

    Lake Tomahawk
    10 min from VHC

    Flat walk around a small lake in Black Mountain.

    Warren Wilson Trails
    8 min from VHC

    This trail system can be accessed from several points including Owen Park.

    Rainbow Mountain Trail
    18 min from VHC

    Steep and rocky in spots, this 1.4 mi total out and back gives a gorgeous view of Black Mountain at the top.

    Mount Craig
    1 hour from VHC

    Mount Craig is 1 mile from the trailhead (2 mi  round trip). Steep and rocky in spots. Starts at Deep Gap trailhead (aka Black Mountain Crest) at Mt. Mitchell. Trailhead location

    Craggy Gardens
    37 min from VHC

    Short 1 mile hike up to a bald. Acess via the Blue Ridge Parkway.
